Secrets to Keeping Your Aquarium CleanWrittenBy:General
Written By:Peter Sibierski An important issue for most people is looking after a baby ferret. Ferrets especially babies can consume a lot of your time and dedication on your part. The ultimate reward though is, that you can say you brought the furry little friend up on your own, that is a big gratification & accomplishment you can be proud of. It's not an easy task to raise ferrets so feel good about it once you get them past the baby stages and past their first 6 month of growth with you. Be prepared for the fact that baby ferrets will have endless energy levels and they will literaly where you out wanting to frolic & play all day. So make sure you take your vitamins because you will need them when you own a ferret. Training your ferret early on to be sociable is very important so be prepared to spend some good quality time training them with good manners. Ferrets are very independent but yes, they can be trained so start that process early on. If you don't know it already your new baby ferret can & will get into anything and everything that is around your house. They like to hide in small spaces so make sure when you have them out of the cage you keep a good eye on them and to ferret proof your house so they don't get caught in small holes or spaces behind your refrigerator, washer/dryer and any other appliances in the house. It would be a really good idea to get a ferret collar for them while you have them out of there cage so they just don't run off and get lost in a small nook or cranny in the house. So now at this stage your fuzzy ferret friend is going to be into everything, and will most likely start to chew on anything & everything you have in the house. Always keep an eye on them especially around kids when you have them out of the cage, just in case he gets into any difficulties or hurts himself. If you have any young children in the house, be aware of the fact that they might start nipping them. That's when training them with a sharp No will help nip that in the bud. Now I don't want to forget about a very important health issue with ferrets so let's talk about that right now. Ferrets like other pets must undergo a series of inoculations shots to guard against rabies etc. So make sure you contact your local veterinary clinic and make an appointment to have their shots up to date. At the same time you might want to consider taking the opportunity to get the little laddie or lady, fixed. Ferrets are very picky about their foods especially babies so you need to know the right types of food to feed them so they stay healthy & happy for a very long time. Just like any other baby, the preparation of food is very important. The food that you decide to feed them on, should first be moistened with water. This will help them to digest their food more easily, and should also prevent any problems with intestinal blockages. A ferret's digestive system can have problems if you feed them the wrong types of foods, so ask your veterinarian to make sure you're feeding them the correct diet combination so they stay healthy for many years to come. I'm sure you will have lots of fun bringing up your baby ferret, but it is going to require quite a bit of work on your behalf. The best part about it is that as long as you are patient and give your pet the right sort of care your relationship with him will be a very happy one.
